Ningbo Development and Reform Commission issued 2008 white paper about present economic situation and economic forecast. In the paper, Ningbo Government summarized achievements of economy and social development in 2007 and prospected economic development and social undertaking in 2008. In 2007, population increased slowly. It was expected that in 2007, total registered residents reached 5.647 million, including 3.31 million from other provinces. New born could be 45000. In 2008, Ningbo would continue to control population and maintain low growth rate. Registered residents will be within 5.7 million and new born below 56000 babies.
