In October this year, the east section of Ningbo Ring Expressway will start construction. According to a working conference on traffic construction of Ningbo held yesterday, this year Ningbo will put 11.44 billion yuan on the construction of the key projects, ling roads in rural areas, and the integration of urban-rural passenger transport, to lay a foundation for the fulfillment of the strategic goal of turning Ningbo into a traffic artery and modern international deep-water artery port in the South Wing of the Changjiang River Delta by 2010. According to an authority of Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Traffic and Port Administration, this year, great efforts will be made for the construction of the 5th phase project of Beilun Port, Meishan Port, and Daxie International Container Wharfs, in the meantime, the construction of expressways will be intensified. The first-phase preparations for Xiangshan Bridge will be completed and started construction within the year. In the meantime, Ningbo will continue the construction of the expressway extensions and Yuyao-Cixi extension of Hangzhou Bay Cross-sea Bridge.
