During the Labor’s Day Festival, many innovative and interesting activities were and are being held to attract visitors. In Xikou and Tengtou, fishing villages are receiving visitors from all over the country.
It was eight o’clock in the morning. There arrived rather a lot of visitors in Miaogaotai, Qianzhangyan and the placce where Zhang Xueliang had once been mured.. They attentively listened to the guide’s introduction and took pictures. In Tengtou, they enjoyed their stay with wild ducks and the performance of animals. They also had the chance to pick strawberries and make year cakes by themselves. In Chinese Fishing Village, a howling competition was held. Competitors howled before a microphone. He who howled with the highest decibel would win the competition and became ‘the Super Star’ that day. Many visitors were quite interested in howling, which used to be one of ways of communication among fishers.
The howling competition was followed by a play about Chinese Qi Jiguang, a Chinese military general and national hero during the Ming Dynatsty. Audience was apparently deeply moved by the scene. Besides all these activities, visitors could enjoy sea food and sea view to their hearts’ content.
