The Beilun Power Plant, a leading port-based company in Beilun, has been sticking to an environment-friendly development. It invested RMB 205 million yuan on environmental protection facilities in its first phase project, 755 million in the second phase, which respectively accounted for 7.28% and 7.4% of the total investments. Last year when the two 2×1,000,000 KW supercritical units were installed for the third phase project, it invested one billion yuan for the installation of desulphurization and denitration equipment, which accounted for 12.81% of the total investment. Now the desulphurization rate of the five units reach 90%.

　　In addition, the plant supplies about 10000 tons of steam for neighboring plants to use each year, which saves them about one million yuan in operating costs.
