Special Police Going for Quake Rescue

  Quake relief is now going on in quake-hit areas in Sichuan. What they need most now is professional rescue teams. On Wednesday this week, a team made up of special police, firemen and medical workers flied to Sichuan to help in rescue work.

  After receiving the phone notice from Ministry of Public Security, Ningbo Public Security Department immediately organized a rescue team consisting of 103 special police. On 13th, the team arrived at Lishe Airport at 11 p.m. and flied to Shuangliu Airport in Chengdu. They have been now in quake-hit areas exerting their utmost to help in rescue work.

  Almost at the same time, the fire brigade of Ningbo was also asked to help in rescue work in quake-hit areas in Sichuan. A team of 127 firefighters was formed and flied from Lishe Airport to Chengdu Airport at 7:50 on the morning of 14th. It is said that the firefighters immediately began their rescue work in Sichuan. At present, they are now rescuing victims in Hongbai, a worst-hit town in Shifang, Sichuan Province.

  Besides, a medical team made up of 14 doctors and nurses from First Hospital, Second Hospital and Li Huili Hospital was sent for quake-hit areas to help in rescue work.
