The construction of Waitan Bridge yesterday started. Baiyin Chaolu, Vice Secretary of the Yiwu Municipal Committee of the CPC and Chairman of Ningbo Standing Committee of the People's Congress announced the start of the construction, and Mao Guanglie, Vice Secretary of Ningbo Municipal Committee of the CPC and Mayor of Ningbo spoke at the opening ceremony.

　　Waitan Bridge is in the center of downtown Ningbo, and an important part of the traffic artery of the city. The bridge is another super large bridge over the Yongjiang River, 1,397 meters long. with the main bridge 337 meters long. The bridge is a 4 plane cable stayed bridge, with a 225 meter-long main span and two side spans, one 82 meters, and the other 30 meters long. The main bridge is 42.8 m in width, and the design speed of 50 km an hour.
