With the Beijing Olympics about two months away, people are welcoming this grand event in various ways. Last Tuesday, the Qingai Guild Hall put on some folk culture shows in the name of meeting the Beijing Olympics.

　　Despite the raining, many residents of the Qing’an Community of Jiangdong are gathering here for the folk culture festival. Various programs are put on, such as the Peking opera, Yue Opera, folk songs, poem recitation, etc. The most eye-catching program is the dou-kong-zhu, a kind of play with diabolo, which is a traditional folk sport in China.

　　The folk culture festival is held once a year in the community. This is the sixth session of the festival. In addition to the folk shows, the community workers give out pamphlets about building a national civil city and call for people making a contribution.
