It is learned that Ningbo's basic medical insurance system for city residents has covered all the counties and cities, involving 450,000 people, including 211,000 aged people, unemployed people and babies, covering 60% of the whole population in the city. In addition, there are 240,000 students in the urban area of the city participating in the system, covering 77% of the whole population of the students in the city.

　　Last year, Ningbo started making experiments in Cixi, Fanghua and Ninghai, for the establishment of the urban residents' medical insurance system, and from January 1 this year, the urban residents' medical insurance system was implemented in the whole city, which covers all the aged people, babies, unemployed people, and school students in urban areas. Now, all the people, both in the countryside and the rural areas of the city, are benefited by the medical insurance system.
