On July 16, the city kicked off a large-scale charity named Aid-Sichuan-Students. Our reporter learned from the Poverty Relief Office that many people were coming to claim and aid the students affected in the Wengchuan earthquake.
Mr. Zhu Guangfeng from the Disease Control Center is a volunteer who has just returned from Sichuan. In the morning, he comes to the charity spot with a name list of students of Qingchaun who are in want of help.
Zhu Guangfeng just returned from the quake zone one month ago. He says the life there is hard and the students’ learning environment is bad. He expects this charity activity could help those students.
Many companies also generously contribute. A high-tech business based in the High-tech Park donated 100,000 yuan and aided 200 senior-high students.
The Poverty Relief Office says the money will be sent to the students soon.
The Poverty Relief Office sent personnel to Sichuan the other day and collected the information of 10,334 students in the disaster zone. Among them, 9,308 are from Qingchuan and 1,025 are from Guangyuan. In addition, some Sichuan students learning in Ningbo are eligible to the charity this time.
