The Taiwan businesspeople in Ningbo were quite happy at the news of chartered flights between the Straits. They had long awaited the day. They are now longing for the day when Ningbo becomes a city with direct flights to Taiwan.
Zhang Chengzhong is an executive of a Taiwan-funded business in Ningbo. During his three years' stay in Ningbo, he would return to Taiwan to see his family every two or three months. Each time the trip would take about one full day. Besides, the transfer is too time-consuming. So he is happy to have chartered flights between the straits.
Fenghua has got about 100 Taiwanese businesspeople who are all looking forward to the direct flight. They hope that there could be more cities with direct flights on both sides. As Ningbo is currently not a city with direct flights to Taiwan, they have to go via Shanghai or Hong Kong when they go back home. This roundabout way of going via transfer wastes time and money.
