Yesterday, Dr. Chen Jigang of Zhejiang Wanli College now working on Xuelong—China Arctic Scientific Exploration Ship, sent back an e-mail, saying that early in the morning of August 2 Xuelong crossed the Bering Straight and entered the Arctic Circle.

　　According to Dr. Chen, the Chinese expedition has finished the scientific work in the Bering Straight.

　　According to the plan, the Chinese expedition will make comprehensive research of the Chukchi Sea, its marine plateau, the Canadian sea basin and return by the end of September.
