QA: We know that SkySea is the first domestic cruise line in China. Why you choose China and SkySea?

Ken Muskat: In recent years, the cruise market in China has developed rapidly, and the demand of Chinese citizens for cruise trip has been increasing. While the business services of related industries are still lagging behind the pace of development. Personally, I have more than 20 years of cruise related business experience. When I was invited to serve as CEO of SkySea, I feel very excited to face some new challenges in my life.

QB: Ningbo is very close to Shanghai and Zhoushan. What are the plans for SkySea to promote brand and lines in Ningbo and attract more than 7 million Ningbo citizens living on the sea to make a cruise trip with SkySea Golden Era.
宁波离上海和舟山很近。天海打算如何在宁波推广品牌和线路,吸引700万宁波市民与SkySea GE进行一次邮轮之旅?
Ken Muskat: That’s a good question. I had quite a lot of trips between Miami and Orlando, and had great fun during these trips. Because there are many cruise ships in both cities, we can sail with various ships.
Now, we are working hard to develop the Ningbo market. We will tell the local people through a variety of channels that SkySea Golden Era is a great cruise ship. Passengers can get a unique experience on SkySea Golden Era. Whether they want to go to Shanghai or Zhoushan, or even anywhere else, their cruise trip demands can be met by choosing SkySea.

QC: What are the strengths and advantages of SkySea Cruise Line?

Ken Muskat:Ken Muskat: Speaking of strengths and advantages, many people will discuss the scale and the new and old factor of the cruise. But what I want to talk about is the charm of the medium size cruise ship. The services we offered are those large cruise ships couldn’t do, such as diverse diets, customized entertainment, etc. Especially in the field of MICE, we are the leader of the industry. SkySea Golden Era’s capacity is about 2000 passengers, which means whether large conferences or exhibitions and are all very appropriate. We try to help customers to customize their most wanted effect in the software from the arrangement of the activities, site layout and any other requirements. China Lodging Group, Wuliangye group and other large companies are our partners.

QD:What is your view on China cruise industry? What is the next step of SkySea?

Ken Muskat: China cruise industry has developed rapidly in the past ten years, people gradually change their ideas which they regard cruise trip as a way of vacation, not just a means of transportation. On the SkySea, we cooperate with travel agencies and train them how to do the business and expand the market. We let customers, travel agencies understand the cruise industry and the advantages of SkySea, so that more people will come to have a cruise trip. On SkySea’s self-upgrading, our efforts in the details. Such as the Wi-Fi speed has increased by ten times, the cooperation Neo Bear to build new children's room and children's play facilities and the seasonal changeable menu. In addition, as a Chinese local brand, we also aim at the international. We should make SkySea as a global brand, let the United States and other countries come to know SkySea.
中国邮轮产业在近十年发展迅速,人们渐渐转换观念,将邮轮当作一种度假方式,而不仅仅是一种交通工具。就天海而言,我们与旅行社合作,培训他们如何做业务,拓展市场,让顾客、旅行社了解邮轮产业,了解天海的优势,让更多的人来体验尝试。在提升自我方面,我们在细节上努力,比如Wi-Fi十倍提速,与小熊尼奥合作推出新的儿童客房与儿童玩乐设施,根据四季五感二十四节气更新菜单等等。此外,作为中国品牌,我们同时将目光瞄准国际,要将天海打造成全球化的品牌,让美国等其他国家了解天海。

Ken Muskat was appointed Chief Executive Officer of SkySea Cruise Line in January, 2017 and is responsible for the daily management of the company. Ken has had more than 20 years’ experience working in the cruise industry, most recently serving as Chairman of the CLIA Trade Relations Committee, and holding various senior leadership roles in Sales, Marketing, Hotel Operations, Onboard Revenue and Call Center Operations with MSC Cruises and Royal Caribbean International.
Since assuming the CEO role at SkySea Cruise Line, the brand has been firmly positioned as the smart contemporary cruise line most preferred by Chinese travelers wanting a cruise vacation experience that offers the best East-Meets-West product design; innovative and unique onboard and shore side experiences; the leader for MICE business and theme cruises and recognized for its high quality food and service standards.
