Statistics show that from January to August, trading to Taiwan through Ningbo Customs this Year reaches 6 billion US dollars, increased by 73.1% above the same period in last year. Of the amount, import amounts to 5.19 billion US dollars, export 540 million US dollars, increased by 79.2% and 30.7% respectively. The trade deficit amounts to 4.65 billion US dollars, increased by 88.3%. In terms of trading modes, the processing trade takes the lead, amounting to 2.83 billion US dollars, increasing by 64.9%, and covering 49.4% of the total. So far, Taiwan has become the 5th biggest trading partner. With the economic rise on the straights, and a number of large enterprises including QImei Electronics and Formosa Plastics Group settling in Ningbo, the trade to Taiwan via Ningbo Port maintains a fast increase.
