The restaurant is specialized in Anhui and Ningbo cuisines, and in the past, it used to be a must for high officials and VIPs, and celebrities. It was that time one of the three best restaurants in Ningbo. In 1992, Dongfuyuan was entitled "China Old and Famous Restaurant" by Ministry of Commerce.
