Last Monday the Zhejiang Provincial government held a televised conference on handling the Sanlu Milk Powder scandal. Vice mayor Madame Yu Hongyi reported the emergency work in response to the milk powder issue. She said that by the noon of 21st of September, Ningbo has screened over 23,489 children, and identified 311 cases of sufferers. 40 of them have been hospitalized and no death has ever been reported.
